Shoes Pleasure And Pain Victoria And Albert Mueseum
Shoes Pleasure And Pain – V&A Museum Exhibition
Shoes Pleasure And Pain is a new exhibition at the Victoria And Albert Museum which opens to the public on June 13th 2015.
I took part in an interview with a while ago, in regards to my thoughts on shoes, fetish and fashion at the museum itself which was a delight for me as you can imagine! What with my obsession with shoes and boots! ๐
Part of my interivew is featured in the book which is really cool.
I cannot wait to go to the exhibition!

It will look at the extremes of footwear from around the globe showing the transformation of shoes and it will examine the latest developments in footwear technology creating the possibility of ever higher heels and dramatic shapes.
There will also be an incredible array of historic shoes. Plus of course plenty of sexy high heels for those amongst us who have an adoration for sexy fetish footwear.
The exhibition โ which opens to the public on Saturday โ was curated by Helen Persson, who specialises in textiles and dress in the V&A’s Asian department. It features designs from the museum’s archives, along with loans from individuals and institutions โ some of which have never before left their country of origin.
“Shoes are pleasure, with a bit of pain,” Persson told Dezeen. “This is what shoes are about โ these two extremes that we have accepted and kind of take for granted.”

“Shoes change the way you walk,” Persson said. “They can either limit the way you walk, they can raise you above the crowd, and if they are really opulent, everyone will look at your shoes and you would stand out in a crowd.”
“That would show your status, your wealth and your place in society. With that, also your sexual appeal,” she added.
Over 70 designers are featured including the likes of Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo,ย Manolo Blahnik and Prada.
You can visit Shoes Pleasure And Pain between: 13 June 2015 โ 31 January 2016.
