This Saturday's 3rd year anniversary and Bettie Page tribute at Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School was sooooo much fun! My friend Dani came over and transformed me into Bettie--using my own hair! I kind of can't stand wigs so I'm happy she was able to create magic without having to pile on a hot wig! She completely transformed me--in fact when I headed to Rated X later in the evening to meet up with some friends, Michael T didn't even recognize me (I noticed this immediately as he looked at me like I was insane when I came up and starting babbling to him an apology for not being out in so long) and I've known him for 15 years! When I was like, you have no idea who I am, he was like HOLY SHIT! LOL! Anyway, it was kind of fun being sorta incognito...!

Anyway, the event started with me jumping out of a huge birthday cake since it was the event's 3rd anniversary. Then I held lots of uncomfortable positions for varying lengths of time while being sketched. I actually totally dug it and had a lot of fun! Thanks so much to Molly Crabapple and the whole Sketchy's crew for having me there and thank you to all the artists who came out! So far I've only gotten photos of myself from the event, but if you were there sketching, EMAIL ME IMAGES OF YER SKETCHES, 'cause I wanna seeeeeee!!!!!! It looks like I'll be doing it again at the end of February (gotta check my travel schedule first to be totally sure!).

As I'm sure you've already heard (if you're even at least mildly interested in fetish iconography or even basic pop culture) the infamous and legendary Bettie Page died yesterday at age 85.

Bettie was a huge inspiration, and 2 of my prized possessions are the Olivia that both she and Bettie signed and the 8x10s that Eric Kroll gave me of her when we shot together a few years back (after I seriously almost accidentally killed him via spear to the jugular during a shot, but that's another tale). I can remember sneaking into my father's secret Playboy stash and finding Bettie's issue and identifying with her so much more than the other models that filled the pages. Raven haired, ultra-curvy with a legendary ribcage--and that attitude! Naughty yet playful...never too serious, which is how I've always thought sex/bondage/spanking/S&M should be. You could always tell she was just having fun.

She will be missed!

In honor of Bettie, Molly Crabapple has decided to make the December 20th Dr. Sketchy's I'm posing for a tribute to Bettie Page.

Dr. Sketchy's is a life drawing class turned burlesque extravaganza. Artists draw glamorous underground performers, compete in contests, and win booze and prizes. From its humble Brooklyn beginnings, it's spread to 65 cities on five continents- including London, Rome, Tokyo, Paris and Melbourne.

On December 20th, stunning fetish supermodel Darenzia will help us celebrate our third year in existence. Plus, fine tunes, free cupcakes, booze and fabulous prizes. Hosted by art provocateur Molly Crabapple.

Dr. Sketchy's 3rd Year Anniversary takes place on December 20th, 4-7 pm, at the Slipper Room, 167 Orchard St (corner of Stanton)
